Kotch was arrested in the subway Friday, January 23, 2009 and is currently incarcerated at the Detention Centre Satolas for over twenty days. It is urgent to take action because we fear it is expelled into the days to come, and we fear for his life. On the other hand, has Kotch was forcibly taken to the Consulate of Turkey in denial of his right of refusal and violence. Detention Centre, Kotch suffered the blows of the police to take him to appear before the Consulate.
Kotch is Turkish-Kurdish minority. He fled his country due to pressure and discrimination suffered by him and his family because of his ethnicity and political. Kotch has been repeatedly arrested and tortured. Even today, following these inhuman treatment, it retains many physical and psychological effects, recognized by different specialists.
Kotch came to find refuge in France in December 2002, like other family members in other European countries. The rest of his family still lives in Turkey: it is regularly under significant pressure to get information about Kotch, his brother, his cousins.
Upon his arrival in 2002, Kotch file a record of political refugee who is denied in 2003. Its various applications for residence permits were also denied.
Since his arrest 24 days ago, his request for release from the Judge of Freedoms was dismissed, ditto before the administrative judge three days later. A new request for political refugee status was again rejected.
The health status of Kotch, a consequence of his mistreatment in Turkey requires special care and daily newspapers, which he did not qualify in detention centers, and even less in their country of origin. Expulsion to Turkey would be a threat to his life, for two reasons: lack of appropriate care, and especially the danger of persecution related to its ethnic and political situation.
Since 2002, Kotch integration it went very well in France. He is fluent a French learned by himself, is involved in various associations, and has managed to rebuild a new life in his new country.
